Postponed: Wendell Foster Half Marathon

OWENSBORO, KENTUCKY – Wendell Foster, a local nonprofit serving people with disabilities, is postponing its second half marathon and race expo. The new date is Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 7:30am.

Due to developing concerns regarding COVID-19 and in collaboration with Owensboro Health, Green River District Health Department, and the Owensboro Mayor’s office, we are postponing the Wendell Foster Half Marathon and race expo. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we will send out more information as it becomes available.

Community leaders and our presenting sponsor Owensboro Health have been working together during the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to limit chances for exposure locally. Although there is no cause for panic, we’d prefer to err on the side of caution and make these adjustments if it has the potential to keep our community healthy.

All registrations will be honored for the postponed race. We are currently working with the city for an alternative date and will announce as we finalize plans.

We deeply appreciate all of the support and understanding the community, sponsors and participants have given this event and Wendell Foster. While we regret having to take this action the well being of our community and our residents is and always will be our highest priority.

Again, the new date is Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 7:30am.
