Family Home Providers (FHP) are contracted through Wendell Foster to provide care for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities who prefer to not live in a staffed residence. The participant lives in the same household as the FHP and is provided caring, individualized support in a comfortable family environment. Each person interested in living in the FHP setting has the opportunity to meet with several potential contractors to find the home that best matches their needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
FHP services may include:
- Help with daily personal care
- Support with recreational or work activities
- Transportation to appointments, shopping, and community outings
- Meal preparation and shared dining
- Medication assistance
- Social engagement and companionship
- Encouragement to build confidence and independence
