At Wendell Foster, our Speech Therapy services help individuals strengthen their ability to communicate and connect with others. Therapists work on speech sound production, fluency, and cognitive – linguistic skills, as well as aural rehabilitation for those with hearing loss.
Feeding & Swallowing
Wendell Foster offers feeding therapy as a speech therapy service. Speech therapists help clients view food as non-threatening and work with the individual on chewing, swallowing, and overcoming sensory issues. We utilize a variety of tools in feeding therapy, including E-stim devices and our Specialized Feeding Treatment area, a realistic environment for patients who have difficulty tolerating the kitchen setting. Our goal is for clients to enjoy eating, while also receiving the nutrients they need to grow and thrive.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
At Wendell Foster, our Speech therapists use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to help each person find their voice and communicate in the way that works best for them. Our Assistive Technology Professionals carefully evaluate each client to match them with the right speech-generating device—whether it’s low-tech, mid-tech, or high-tech. With AAC devices, our clients gain the power to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas!
