Equal Opportunity Employer

Equal Employment Opportunity is a fundamental principle at Wendell Foster, where employment is based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic as established by law.

This policy of Equal Employment Opportunity applies to all policies and procedures involving employment including, but not limited to, recruitment and hiring, placement, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, termination, training, use of all facilities and participation in all company-sponsored employee activities and all other terms and conditions of employment.

Wendell Foster prohibits the employment of individuals with a conviction or prior employment history of child or service recipient abuse, neglect or mistreatment.  Individual departments may also prohibit individuals from employment based on program specific policies and/or regulatory requirements (e.g. felony convictions).  Therefore, in accordance with State and Federal regulations, WF will obtain and review the criminal and any other applicable records of all applicants being seriously considered for employment.  Applicants are required to sign a Release of Information authorizing the facility to receive their record from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.  Failure to sign this release will result in the Application for Employment being considered as invalid and the applicant as ineligible for employment.

Any applicant, who intentionally provides false information, including a criminal record or employment history, will have his or her Application for Employment  considered invalid, and the applicant ineligible for employment.  If employed, the employee will be subject to immediate dismissal.

The Human Resources Department has overall responsibility for this policy and maintains reporting and monitoring procedures.  Employee’s questions or concerns should be referred to the Human Resources Department.

Appropriate disciplinary action may be taken against any employee willfully violating this policy.
