Personal Assistant

Personal Assistance (PA) is designed to enable waiver participants to accomplish tasks that they normally would do for themselves if they did not have a disability. PA services take place in the participant’s home and in the community as appropriate to the individual’s needs.

Assistance may include:

  • Hands on assistance
  • Reminding, observing, guiding, and/or training about personal hygiene, light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, grocery shopping, money management, etc.
  • Helping manage medical care such as scheduling and providing transportation for non-emergency medical appointments.

In order to be eligible to receive PA, the participant must live in their own home or with family.
