Dear Valued Supporter:
I’m pleased to share that visitation has reopened! Family members can now visit with their loved ones while following safety guidelines (masks, distancing, etc.) to avoid exposure to COVID-19. Pictured is Lauren with her family, who were able to see each other for the first time in over a year. It truly was a memorable event for the family and Wendell Foster team members.
You may have heard about Wendell Foster’s “Difference Maker” movement. Anyone that supports Wendell Foster (employees, donors, board members, volunteers, etc.) is making a difference in the lives of those we support. With the support of Difference Makers like you, I am proud that Wendell Foster has been fulfilling our mission of empowering people with disabilities for 74 years. We are planning to celebrate our 75th anniversary next year and look forward to celebrating with you.
In November 2020, I shared fundraising has been difficult for our Green Outpatient Therapy Facility Renovation due to the global pandemic. However, with your help, we’ve been able to regain momentum. The parking lot has been resurfaced, the roof has been repaired, and updated lighting has been installed. However, we still need help in closing the financial gap to finish the project. We still need to raise $70,000 to complete the entire project.
I have included some pictures of what’s been completed like the fresh new paint and updated lighting that has been installed. There is still work to be done – including the 34-year-old occupational therapy kitchen remodel, where people of all ages learn to cook and build independence. The renovation of the Green Facility is needed to serve our 600+ outpatients each year in occupational, physical, and speech therapies, and our Assistive Technology and Resource Center.
If you are in a place to give, please consider a gift to Wendell Foster for this project. If you’re not, we understand and we’re grateful for your support and prayers. As always, thank you for being a #WFDifferenceMaker.
